Two years ago, Huynh Tieu Huong was a famous name in the charity village, loved by the community. She has a strange journey: She came from a dusty child and then became the director of the Que Huong Humanitarian Center (Di An town, Binh Duong). Here she conceived and taught hundreds of disabled children, abandoned by their parents since birth. Because of her philanthropic spirit, she was awarded the Labor Medal 3rd class by the State President, honored in the program "People of the Time" of VTV, received the title of "Woman who touched the heart of Vietnam". from the Vietnam Women's Union.

Recently, Huynh Tieu Huong rarely appears in the newspaper. Meanwhile, the social network constantly appeared information "Scam Huynh Tieu Huong". Many journalists contacted her to find out but failed. Fortunately, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the Que Huong Humanitarian Center, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong accepted to open up to some reporters. Just exchanged a few sentences with us, Ms. Tieu Huong burst into tears. She said that she has "avoided" the press for a long time because she feels afraid of "the world's tongue".

The source of the incident began with the fact that in the past few years, there were a series of people claiming to be "giants" who promised to donate large amounts of money to her Center from a few hundred million to hundreds of billions of dong. Those eloquent statements are made public at ceremonies, or in the press. You believe, the people believe. But in the end it's just a way to polish the name for the business, for them personally. Her center and hundreds of orphans did not receive any money from those promises. The difficulty is that many poor people, especially those with disabilities, people with heart disease or incurable diseases rush to her center to ask for money for medical examination and treatment. The reason is that they think that if you receive hundreds of billions of dong in sponsorship, they will share and help them. The amount of difficult people pulling to the center was so large that she felt panic and helpless. She said she had not received a "huge amount of money" from the giants, but the poor did not believe her. Everyone thought that she used that money to buy land to buy a house, buy a super luxury car.

She said, at the same time on social networks appeared a lot of bad information about her. They believe that she takes advantage of disabled orphans to raise money for charity. There are even people who claim to be business directors who say on social media that she borrowed hundreds of millions of dong but failed to repay the loan. Such malicious information spread and was shared by many people, causing the image of "The woman who shook the heart of Vietnam" to collapse in the eyes of many people. Huong shared: “In the past, I was known and loved by many people. There are days when I receive hundreds of letters. They love me because of their kindness, they ask for my picture and then they come to the center to share it with me. But now the number of such people is very small.”

“I just want to escape from this life!”

– Reporter: What have you heard people say about you lately?

– Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong: Now I have a reputation as a fraud. People tell me to be careful when meeting me. For example, when people visit my center, bring milk and drinks, they tell the center staff that they must let the children drink, not leave it as is. They were afraid to leave it, so I sold it for pocket money. Psychological spread, strong donors to the charity center are very few. To have money to support my children, I had to sell socks. Even the house in Go Dau (HCMC) is a commemorative house, I want to keep it but I also have to sell it to get money to pay for and build the center. How many years, lost everything.

Many brothers also said that in the past, Mrs. Huong was very good, but now she is raising children, she is greedy, she takes money from her pocket. But that's not it, they don't understand. It is true that since such speculations appeared, I have had a very difficult time because the sources of support for me to raise my children have stopped, both at home and abroad have stopped. Brothers friends from me clean.

Why are there such speculations?

– The phrase “Tieu Huong scammed” comes from Ms. L. Ha Tinh. This L. promised to give Huong's center a lot of money, but she did not give it. Then Mr. A. from the rural development company promised to give the center 800 billion, a company named An Thien Nhan promised 75 billion, Bach Diep Company promised 100 million VND per month. Such promises are made or published. But when they promised to be present, I thought it was true, not thinking they were joking. They even told me to see how much the land around the humanitarian center costs, then buy it all, they will give me money to expand the center for children to have a place to play. I believe I should ask people around the center to buy land. People are willing to sell cheap. Land is 2 million/m2 but people only sell 600 thousand VND/m2. People keep waiting for me to deposit but I didn't receive any support so I couldn't deposit. To this day, I have a reputation for being a scammer.

Children to be cared for and taken care of by Ms. Huong

– From being honored as “the woman who shakes the heart of Vietnam” to being nicknamed “scam”, you must be very disappointed?

Actually, sometimes I just want to die, escape from this life. Sometimes I am afraid of people, afraid of the mouth of life. There are people who keep going on social media saying I owe them but who they are, I don't know at all. I also went on social media to ask them to show me a picture that I had taken with them. But they don't show pictures, they just put things. Honestly, I've never been in debt to anyone. I have many diseases in my body, so I don't dare to owe anyone, fearing that I will die, who can pay the debt, maybe let my children pay?

– So what is the purpose of those "sponsorers" who promise to give money to help orphans and disabled children of the center? Did they initially want to polish their name?

– When they announced that, I just thought in their hearts they wanted to help me. I really don't think they mean anything. Many people think that my center has received money, so they come here to ask for help. There were so many people that I had to stay away. The truth is, I'm scared. Many people who come here and can't see me get angry, swear, swear, and demand terrorism because everyone thinks I received the sponsorship and hid. To the point that I was scared when I saw guests coming, so I covered my head with a scarf.

– So since such scams appeared? If the benefactors turn their backs, where does the money go to feed hundreds of children?

– I do all kinds of things to earn money, buy and sell antiques, broker land, go to any country and see something unique like a lighter with the signature of the president, I buy it and find someone to resell it. Then I had to sell my house to pay for my grandchildren. Before there are false speculations, I just need to ask for 100-200 million to have a sponsor send it right away. Now people say I'm a scam so few people want to answer my phone.

Now Huong raises about 300 children, with an average monthly budget of 600 million. The electricity bill alone is hundreds of millions of months a month, then teachers, children... On the side of the government, since the appearance of conflicting information, they did not say anything, they also created favorable conditions for the central government. but I think they don't trust me as much as before.

“I was born and raised without knowing my father or mother. I am an orphan, dusty, homeless, wandering, self-supporting. My childhood memories are the beatings and tortures of dishonest people. I have lived a meal of hunger, a full meal, tears and bowls of rice, so I sympathize and share with unfortunate lives. After someone adopted me but my life was always whipped, I returned to the life of a street child, living in a street market, train station, bus station... Doing all kinds of jobs such as begging, washing dishes, carrying children , selling chewing gum, washing cars, selling coffee… Then, with some help from someone, I entered the business and trading path.

In 1999, when I built up some capital, I looked for street children to raise. Since then, I decided to form a facility to raise disabled and orphaned children with the wish that on this earth there will be and forever no more unfortunate children like my life."
