Documentary about Huỳnh Tiểu Hương:
ASPIRATION FOR LIFE
Adversity
can immerge the weak, the pessimistic but become the
driving force to help the more powerful or motivated
people to affirm their own will and energy.
And Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong, founder and
director of Que Huong Humanitarian Center, in Tan
Long Quarter, Tan Dong Hiep Ward, Di An Town, Binh Duong Province is such a
person. From her childhood
dates, when she left abandoned by her own parents,
she had to live with the people that
she thinks her grandparents, uncles and aunts. And she was constantly
beaten, and tortured. And later on, she was wandering, leading an uncertain life to make / earn her living and
suffered from constant persecution but all of these can
not destroy the strong vitality of
a skinny, weak, and pale person as she is.
Being in the prime of youth, Tieu Huong kept living through such the dates of “as bitter and miserable as death" when she has been done harm, and bullied by the
aggressive thugs, the "cold
blood" pimps and the "blue
beard" ogres for several times. More
toxically and ruthlessly, they
repeatedly showed their ability to "kill"
her for several times to hide
their crimes. But, as a miracle, the fragile,
and weak Tieu Huong was being against their plots and tricks fiercely. In spite of
the slightest hope, Tieu Huong still managed to grab to be lived, to reach
the light of life, leaving behind (her back)
the darkness, and the mud which are always waiting to engulf her. Moreover, thanks to her smart, agile, fluent, and innovative nature, Tieu
Huong became a "giant" in the 1990s, with thousands of square meters
of land, from 4 to 5 houses and dozens of cars for rent. Also from here, the path of light, and the horizon of happiness step by step appeared in the mind of young entrepreneur Huynh Tieu
Huong and urged her to act immediately, as if she only had one day to live, to work and dedicate her services; It is to make many
charitable benefactions to
help the poor, and unhappy.
Over 20 years getting out of her comford zone to be devoting her life to
the humanitarian pursuit / cause, especially since the establishment of Que
Huong Humanitarian Center in 2001 so far, for several times has Tieu Huong been
posed the same questions from various friends, journalists, and leaders from
the central and local agencies and organizations: Why has she accepted to trade
the wealth life, freedom, comfort, and happiness of a successful woman for the
whole lifespan’s hardship and anxiety of a single mother with hundreds of innocent
children? Why has she been willing to sacrifice to trade her own prime of youth
and beauty as well as her personal happiness for other people’s children? Why has
she had to spend all the saved-up capital and wealth for the job of which many
people think as mad and crazy? ... Despite dozens of years glided by, even
thousands of the same questions posed to her, people often get the only answer
from her: Tieu Huong wants to save the life of the poorly, unclaimed conditions,
so that life does not have the second, the third, and more Tieu Huong as she
used to be...
When adopting these abandoned lives to be brought up by Que Huong Shelter
and becoming their mother, the first thing Huynh Tieu Huong thought is that she
is to offer these children a condition, as kind and decent as other normal children.
Being not able-bodied, or perfect, and there is nothing to be proud of, but at
least, these children have to be registered a birth to know their age; had the
Huynh surname of Tieu Huynh mother to know that they are lucky enough to have a
kind, and generous mother; Also, they have been put into the family record book
of Que Huong family to know from where they have grown up... Thus, whenever the
family has a new member, the staff in the Center’s HR and Administration Department
are again busy with the child’s birth registration, and put it into the family record
book of Que Huong family, from having the news posted on newspapers and been
on radio and televioon stations to seek for their relatives, reporting to the
local authorities about adopting the abandoned child, to having some necessay
procedures completed so that the child can have its birth certificate in the possible
shortest time. It’s very important, not only for themselves but also for Tieu
Huong's mother. Because birth registration is a key turning point, opening up a
new life, and new future for the children in Que Huong Shelter. The birth registration
is also a necessary and sufficient condition for these children to be
registered in the family record book of Huynh family. As of Tieu Huong mother,
only when these above–mentioned procedures have been completed, she feels at
ease about the child to care about other matters. Facing the initial
difficulties of the dossiers, procedures, papers, but thanks to the active assistance
and support of various levels of the local authorities, now all of her children
have have the surname of Huynh, the
middle name of Tieu (or Little) in their names and their names have been written
in the thickest and longest family record book at her address: 17/15/11A Go
Dau, Tan Quy Ward, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City. In 2010, the household
register of Huynh Tieu Huong family set the record, which was recorded by
Vietnam Record Organization. The record was called "The owner has the
thickest and longest household register in
After the anxiety of birth registration and household register, the
mother of hundreds of children is always hauntingly worried about giving these
children full board and lodging. Therefore, she has poured whatever she had saved
and accumulated into building housing and classrooms for her children. Since the
early days of the newly founded
Not only has she been offering these children decent and full board and
lodging, but mother Huynh Tieu Huong also aims at the overriding concern over these
children‘s future and study so that they can well grow up, don’t feel a complex
about their own conditions, and won’t be the society’s burden. Thus, the children
who normally grow up often go to local schools to study in the community to
integrate with their peers. So far, almost 100 children have been studying in these
local schools. As if to compensate for the anxiety always weighing down on the
mother’s shoulders, most of them are very good, and have their good records.
The awards, the medals, and the certificates of satisfactory progress brought
back the Center by these children are the priceless gifts, and the great source
of spiritual encouragement to help her have further joy and motivation to step
forward along with these children. The disabled children will study at the
center. In particular, those who wish to study trade will be given the chance to
learn cars’ repairing, sewing, point-acupuncturing, bead-knitting, art ... thanks
to their mother’s help. From Que Huong Shelter, many children have recently grown
up and integrated into the community life. She also helped over 4,000 children –
already been raised and grown up in the Center – have their permanent jobs in
Taiwanese companies and businesses, P&G, VMEP companies and so on. The more
attached and informative we stay to the operation of
